THE CLIENT
Find Fido is a mobile-first platform designed to help pet owners quickly reconnect with lost animals through a community-driven reporting system.
To reduce stress and response time in lost pet situations by creating a fast, intuitive reporting and discovery system.
PROBLEM SPACE
High-Stress User Context
Users come into the app in panic. The experience had to work instantly - no learning curve, no confusion, no unnecessary steps
Time-Critical Scenarios
Every hour matters when a pet is lost. The product had to prioritize speed: posting, searching, and connecting users in seconds
Fragmented Discovery
Lost pets are usually searched across multiple channels (social media, local chats, offline ads). The challenge was to centralize this into one reliable system
Trust & Safety
User-generated content introduces risks: fraudulent or misleading listings, scams, or unsafe interactions. The platform needed built-in trust mechanisms
WHAT WE DID
User-Centered UX Strategy
We designed flows specifically for urgent scenarios - minimizing steps required to post or find a pet.
Search & Discovery System
Emergency-first interface design prioritizing immediate action over exploration. Implemented both simple and advanced search with filters (type, breed, status), combined with a real-time feed of listings.
Ad Creation Flow
Built a frictionless posting system where users can quickly describe the pet, add location, and publish within minutes
In-App Communication
Integrated a familiar chat system to enable fast coordination between users, including media sharing and reporting features
Emotional Design Layer
Developed custom character illustrations to reduce stress and create an emotional connection during onboarding
TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION
Mapped critical scenarios: lost pet, found pet, browsing, communication - each optimized for speed and clarity
Enabled multiple login options (phone, email, social) to reduce entry barriers and accelerate first action
Built a continuously updating feed of new listings to ensure users always see up-to-date information
Designed architecture capable of handling growing volumes of user-generated content and interactions
WORKING PROCESS
We didn’t design for “average usage” - we designed for stress. Every screen answers: what does the user need right now?
Instead of overloading the product, we prioritized the shortest path to action: post → find → connect
Used familiar interaction patterns to reduce cognitive load in high-stress situations (chat UI, feed, filters) to eliminate learning time
Added reporting and blocking mechanisms to reduce risk and increase platform reliability
Continuously refine flows based on real user behavior - especially around search accuracy and communication
THE PROJECT RESULTS
A product that simplifies one of the most stressful moments for pet owners
Reduced average time to publish a lost pet listing to under 2 minutes
Improved user-to-user connection speed during active search cases
Enabled scalable expansion into broader pet recovery and adoption use cases (lost, found, adoption)
